2021 Basketball Award Winners

Each year, we present two significant awards to basketball players that went above and beyond, both on and off the court. We are so proud of the hard work that players put into each season, as they work hard to develop their character, skills, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to these exemplary players. We look forward to our 2022 season!

Tyrone Richardson Award

Tyrone Richardson was a lifelong West Chester resident. He was a lifetime supporter of the Melton Center. As a young man, Tyrone could often be found in the gym playing basketball with his friends or enjoying the Center’s pool. As he grew up, he actively recruited staff, volunteers, and opportunities for the Center. He was never far away, and no task was too much to ask. Each year, we honor his memory by presenting this award to a player who is dedicated, a team player, and willing to lend a hand.

Dominic Downs
Besides being the best player in the league. Dom is a great kid -- he works hard, he's very respectable, coachable, and a great teammate. He is the type of player every coach loves to have. He plays hard on both ends of the floor, and he is unselfish.
