Big News at the Melton!

This summer, our young men received their SERV Safe Certification as part of an ARPA grant program under the direction of the 2Fish Community Cafe and the Melton Center. As part of their training, they spent the summer prepping nutritional meals for several programs, including the New Directions Summer Camp, YWMIC Summer program, and the Synergy Recovery House. They also learned about Community Gardening from Chef Joel and Chef Kenny.
Some of these young men have graduated high school and are prepping for a career while being trained in comprehensive culinary training program.

Two of the recipients of the John Humanick Family Foundation Scholarship, MOBBY members K’mari Smith (left), attending Albright University, and Jose Ramos (right), attending Delaware Valley University, with the Melton Center Board President Dr. Koreem Bell (Center). Both K’mari and Jose were presented with their scholarships at Community Day this year. The Melton Center would like to extend a big thank you to the John Humanick Family Foundation.
